Can you work at night so we do not have to close?
Often, yes. Plenty of restaurant tear-outs run after last seating or on a Sunday and Monday so the kitchen is back open for the week. Tell Ricky your service hours at the walkthrough and the schedule gets built around them, not the other way around.
How bad is the dust, and will it get into the dining room?
Tile and mortar removal makes dust. That is the honest answer. Containment goes up at every opening into the work area before the first tile comes up, and the space stays sealed until the debris is out, so the rest of the building keeps operating.
Will the price change once you open the floor up?
The written price is the price. That is why Ricky walks the job first instead of quoting off a phone call. If there is something nobody can see from the surface, like an unknown second layer or a mortar bed thicker than expected, it gets talked about before any work starts, not billed to you after.
What if the old flooring contains asbestos?
We stop and we do not touch it. Old vinyl tile and the black cutback adhesive under it are common suspects in buildings from that era. Testing and abatement go to a licensed abatement contractor, and we come back in and take the floor out once that work is signed off.
Will you damage the slab, the walls, or my equipment?
The slab is what we are trying to save, so the tear-out is worked down to it and not through it. Door frames, jambs, cooler panels, and any fixtures staying in place get covered and protected before demolition starts. Superior Floor Demolition is insured, and a certificate is available on request if your landlord or GC needs one on file.
Do you work outside the Higden area?
Yes. The truck runs the entire state of Arkansas and the western half of Tennessee. Restaurant buildouts do not stay in one town, and neither do we.
